Get the most out of Magigoo.

Three steps:

1. Shake the Magigoo pen like you mean it.
2. Press down the nib on the printing bed for Magigoo to flow.
3. Spread evenly across the print area — a thin layer covering the active print area is enough.

Do not squeeze the bottle — the applicator has a spring valve that activates when you press it. Squeezing risks the applicator popping off.

Apply when the bed is cool for best results, but Magigoo also works on a hot bed.

For reliable adhesion, yes — we recommend applying Magigoo before every print.

Wipe the bed with a damp cloth once your prints have popped off. Water is all you need — no chemicals or solvents required.

Store upright and away from direct sunlight. That's it.

Start with these and refine in 5°C / 9°F increments:

• PLA: 40–60°C (104–140°F)
• ABS: 90–110°C (194–230°F)

The most common cause is bed temperature being too low. Try increasing in 5–10°C increments until you find the sweet spot. Also check:

• Bed is properly levelled
• Magigoo layer is thin and even (a heavy layer can actually reduce adhesion)
• You're using a Magigoo product suited to your material

Bed is likely too hot. Decrease the bed temperature in 5–10°C increments. Elephant's foot (where the first few layers bulge out) usually disappears once you find the right temperature.

This usually happens when the bottle was squeezed instead of pressed. The applicator is designed to release product only when the nib is pressed down. Just push it back firmly — it should snap back into place.

It's thermo-responsive polymer chemistry. The active compounds form a strong bond at the printing temperature of your filament (when the bed is hot) and release that bond as the temperature drops. This is fundamentally different from glue sticks or hairspray, which just stay sticky.
