Polyamide (nylon) filaments — including PA6, PA12, PA66 and their glass or carbon-fibre reinforced counterparts — are prized for their strength, toughness and chemical resistance, but their low adhesion to conventional build surfaces and high tendency to warp make them notoriously difficult to print. Magigoo PA was developed specifically to solve this, giving nylon-based filaments the firm first-layer grip they need during printing, while still releasing cleanly once the bed cools.

Yes. Magigoo PA has been developed and tested with a range of PA types, including specialty grades such as Luvocom® 3F PAHT 9825 NT (unreinforced), PAHT CF 9891 BK (carbon-fibre reinforced) and PAHT KK 50056 BK FR (flame-retardant), alongside standard PA6, PA12 and PA66 filaments.
As a PA print gets larger, thermal stresses can build up and put more force on the first layer. Check that the build plate temperature remains stable and that the printing environment does not experience significant temperature changes during the print.
Yes. Moisture in nylon can affect print quality, mechanical properties and printing behaviour, which can also make achieving consistent adhesion more difficult. Dry the filament according to the manufacturer's recommendations before printing. For hygroscopic materials like nylon, Drywise can help by drying the filament inline during printing, maintaining the filament in a dry state throughout the process and reducing the impact of moisture on print consistency.
No. Magigoo PA should be applied to a cool, clean build plate. Applying it while the bed is hot can affect the application and may damage the applicator.
The most common cause is bed temperature being too low. Try increasing in 5–10°C increments until you find the sweet spot. Also check:
Bed is likely too hot. Decrease the bed temperature in 5–10°C increments. Elephant's foot (where the first few layers bulge out) usually disappears once you find the right temperature.
This usually happens when the bottle was squeezed instead of pressed. The applicator is designed to release product only when the nib is pressed down. Just push it back firmly — it should snap back into place.
